Exploring Inner Space – Meditations on the Mind
Venerable Lobsang Dawa

31 August-2 September 2018
Sunshine Room, The Park, Findhorn

We spend our lives exploring the world, from our very first steps, to our longest journeys.  But how often do we stop to explore our inner world our mind.  The Buddha taught that the cause of all our problems, and source of all our happiness is our mind, so looking after our mind is important as looking after our bodies.

Before we can improve our mind, we need to understand our mind, and before we can do that, we need to be able to observe our mind, without judgement or fear.

This weekend of teachings is intended to be an introduction to meditating on the mind, from learning to calm it down; to observing its most subtle nature.

Ven. Dawa is an English monk and co-ordinator of the former Jamyang Mindrol-ling Study Group. He was one of the party who took refuge with Geshe Tashi, who is based in London, in 1999. Since then he has been studying Buddhism with Geshe-la and other FPMT teachers, and in 2003 took his first ordination with Geshe Tashi at Jamyang in London.
He spent two years at Nalanda Monastery in France, returning in 2005 to organize Jamyang Coventry.  In 2008 he took full ordination in India with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.  After acting as the group co-ordinator for the last eight years, he has recently been confirmed as a registered FPMT teacher.
