How do we achieve this in our life?
The practice of the Four Immeasurables or the Four Excellent States nurtures a very rich, wholesome space in our hearts for ourselves and others. While awakening our innate potential for limitless love, compassion,
sympathetic joy and equanimity, they simultaneously counteract painful states of mind such as fear, lack of self-confidence, jealousy and loneliness.
Combined with the mystical practice of Tonglen (taking others suffering and giving others your happiness) a complete transformation of the heart can awaken deeply within us.
Join Ven. Angie for this special opportunity to meditate on a potent combination of these 2 special practices, together with the mantra of compassion to experience the joy of heart opening and the ability to live in every moment with compassion.
We will start the weekend with:
Vajrasattva Puja, along with motivation for the Weekend Retreat
Friday 23 August: 7pm to 8.30pm
This practice was composed by the founder of FPMT, Lama Thubten Yeshe specifically for Westerners. It is a short but powerful practice involving chanting, making offerings and recitation of the Vajrasattva mantra. These practices help to purify our hearts and minds to create space for spiritual realisations to grow.
Attendees are invited (since it is very beneficial) to bring something delicious such as fresh fruit or sweet treats as an offering.
Please arrive 10 minutes early if you plan on bringing an offering.
Everybody is welcome to attend!

Ven. Angie Muir
Born in Scotland, in 1970, she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in 1992. Feeling disillusioned with her prospective career path and life ahead of her, she left Scotland and combined travelling with work in Asia for 3 years until in 1995 she felt a calling to go to India to explore meditation and find her life path. Within a few months, “I had the incredible fortune due to some previous karma” to discover Tibetan Buddhism, meet her main spiritual teacher Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche (of almost 30 years) and become ordained.
Venerable Angie has been a Buddhist nun for over 25 years. During this time, she served at Lama Zopa Rinpoche's residences in the US for 13 years. As well as doing various personal retreats, she has also offered service as well as teaching and leading meditation at other FPMT centres.
Venerable Angie has been the well-loved resident sangha in Shambala Retreat Centre at Findhorn Bay for several years.
Recording
The sessions will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be send to all participants.
